The mission of Johnny Lama Yoga is to raise awareness for the benefits of yoga and inspire men to start and share their practice.
Over 34 million Americans practice yoga, yet men represent fewer than 30% of the market — and even fewer enroll in teacher training programs to learn how to teach yoga and share the practice. We need to get more men into yoga.
The physical benefits of the practice are somewhat obvious —- strength, balance, flexibility. However, yoga can also improve the lives of men on other equally important levels.
Yoga can be a gateway in developing self-awareness, a resilient life-mindset, and more selfless behavior. Overtime the practice instills a fly-wheel effect in generating better habits, decisions, and actions that make life more enjoyable.
